About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 118 × 170 cm (3'10" x 5'7"), plant dyed and reversible. Orange diamonds on an earthy ground, framed by a border of hexagons in red, green and cream.
The field has an abrash ground carrying five rows of diamonds; in the border every hexagon holds its own small motif. Dyed with madder, weld and indigo.
Woven double-sided, so both sides can be used. Works in front of a sofa, under a coffee table, beside the bed or in a wide hallway.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
