About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 100 × 149 cm (3'3" x 4'11"), plant dyed and reversible. A chain of black diamonds down the field, framed by an orange border with hexagons.
The black is not dyed at all: it is the natural colour of black sheep's wool. The red comes from madder, the beige from weld, madder and alum.
A strong eye catcher for an entryway, hallway, beside the bed or in front of an armchair.

Good to know
A light wool smell at the start is a sign of untreated wool and fades after two or three days of fresh air. Care: shake out, blot spills with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
