About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 80 × 127 cm (2'7" x 4'2"), plant dyed and reversible. A madder red border with hexagons frames one column of yellow diamonds between blue half diamonds.
The yellow diamonds in the centre carry blue motifs, the blue sides cream ones. On the outside runs the running-water motif in indigo blue, set off by a chain of small diamonds in weld cream.
For an entryway, a narrow hallway, beside the bed or as a wall hanging.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
