About this piece
Handwoven wool kilim rug, 105 × 147 cm (3'5" x 4'10"), plant dyed and reversible. A densely patterned field of diamonds in green, beige and blue, framed by a grey green border with red diamonds.
The grey green of the border comes from indigo and weld, the red diamonds on it are dyed with madder. Between border and field runs the running-water motif in red.
Works with light or dark wood: beside the bed, in a reading corner or in an entryway.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
