About this piece
Handwoven kilim rug in undyed, hand-spun sheep's wool, 104 × 157 cm (3'5" x 5'2"), reversible. One large diamond in the centre surrounded by six half diamonds, black on light cream.
Nothing here is dyed: the black is dark sheep's wool and the cream is light sheep's wool, just as it grew. The running-water motif runs all round, and the border carries black motifs on cream.
Clear and calm enough for a study: in front of a desk, in a reading corner, in an entryway or beside the bed.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
