About this piece
Handwoven gabbeh rug in undyed, hand-spun sheep's wool, 100 × 150 cm (3'3" x 4'11"). Soft, low pile in grey, cream and black with natural stripes.
The weaver worked freely, so every piece is one of a kind. The pile is cut short and bound with many weft rows: the gabbeh lies flat and drapes softly instead of being bulky.
Pleasant underfoot in a bedroom, in front of a sofa or in a reading corner.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
