About this piece
Handwoven gabbeh kilim rug in undyed, hand-spun sheep's wool, 100 × 150 cm (3'3" x 4'11"). Flat kilim areas and raised gabbeh fields in beige, grey and brown form a free, abstract pattern.
The weaver worked without a drawing: ovals and rectangles of pile sit loosely on the flat ground, and a small animal is woven into one corner. The abrash of the natural wool gives the surface depth.
Suits Scandinavian, Japandi and minimalist rooms, in front of a sofa or beside the bed.

Good to know
Untreated wool smells faintly of wool at first; two or three days of fresh air take care of it. Care: shake out regularly, blot spills right away with clear water.
The natural lanolin in the wool keeps dirt out. The wool gets no chemical finish.
